About Alma

Meet Alma, Founder and CEO of Alma Explores. Raised in Southern California — between Los Angeles and San Diego — her wanderlust took root early, shaped by a Mexican household where Spanish was her first language and 30-hour road trips to visit her grandparents in Mexico were simply part of life. She’s since touched every continent (well, except Antarctica), living and working in vibrant spots like Mexico City, Guadalajara, Tijuana, and the bustling streets of New York City.

Alma has worked in events for more than 20 years. She’s produced her own event at the Sundance Film Festival, in addition to managing corporate partnerships for national organizations like UnidosUS. But it was leading a group up the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania — watching them push through exhaustion and doubt, and come out the other side changed — that crystallized what she wanted her own company to stand for: travel as a shared, transformative experience, not just a destination checked off a list.

That belief is the foundation of Alma Explores. Now, Alma channels decades of logistics instinct and storytelling into curating experiences for the traveler who’s ready to see more of the world without sacrificing comfort. She designs journeys for adults 40 and up who want culture, connection, and ease in equal measure — trips that go beyond the surface, without the friction. Alma is working to combat overtourism, environmental strain, and tired stereotypes about who travels and how.

As a first-generation Mexican-American, Alma has explored every corner of Mexico and traveled to over 70 countries along the way. Join her on a journey where comfort meets culture, and the world is yours to explore.
