Arusha is known as the home-base for those seeking a safari experience in the Serengeti National Park, as well the gateway to Africa’s largest peak, Mt. Kilimanjaro. Furthermore, with over 100 nationalities, it’s a melting pot of Hadzabe, Maasai, Swahili and dozens of other indigenous and ethnic cultures. A highly recommended and unforgettable experience is a visit to a boma aka the local community of the indigenous ethnic group inhabiting northern Tanzania known as the Maasai.

Interested in visiting or hiking Africa’s tallest peak? In August of 2023, Alma Explores will be making a return visit to hike the world’s tallest free standing mountain, with a small group excursion. Want to join our group trip, make sure you’re on our mailing list.

Interested in a private hike at Kilimanjaro, Alma Explores will be glad to coordinate all of the details for your adventure.

Zanzibar is unlike any other place you’ll visit. If you like white sands and turquoise waters with world class cuisine, look no further. It’s also one of the most diverse places with cultural influences ranging from African, Indian, Arabic and Persian cultures. Stone Town was also host to one of world’s last open slave markets, and it makes a good place to learn the word’s history. Other things you can do are enjoy the vibrant night market on the waterfront at Forodhani Gardens, take a spice tour or a cooking class, or simply enjoy a beautiful sunset on the picture perfect beach. We recommend 5 days in Zanzibar.
